Description
I finally got to do a photoshoot with my Shaymin costume!
This is my first grass-type gijinka ^_^. I decided to make a Shaymin costume because I love it's land forme design, and figured it would be a pretty simple costume to make and wear.
As usual, it turned-out to be more complex than I had originally thought....@_@
I decided on a pretty eyelet fabric for the dress because I thought it looked girly, and the eyelet pattern reminds me of leafy/flowery things. Because of the delicate peek-a-boo fabric, the dress needed a heavier lining. It took some extra time, but worked-out really well in the end!
Another unanticipated challenge were the gracidea flowers. (I don't know why I thought that I could simply pick them up at a hobby store >_<.) After scouring my local shops I just couldn't find anything that looked enough like a gracidea to satisfy my picky self. So I purchased several different silk flowers, cut them up, and 'frankensteined' them together to create my head flowers. In the end, I'm really glad that I went the extra mile with them.
